This solo is an attempt to embody the state of crisis of man in Western society. Different ideals and states of masculinity are shown and layered in order to demonstrate the multitude of, presumably endless, male characteristics. The question that remains is how different these characteristics are from my own.
Let me look at masculinities.
Let me look at the tensions between the “ideal” and the “other”.
Let me investigate the confusion, defensiveness and the malaise of manhood.
Let me look at boxing.
Let me look at brutality and supposed hyper-masculinity.
Let me investigate the physicality of aggression.
Let me look at marginalization.
Let me look at the metamorphosis of masculinity.
Let me investigate a link between everything.
